Location: Bulqiza, Albania
Description: This project aims to revitalize the main square of the city, laying in front of an important building of the past which was purposed to offer the people of Bulqiza what it lacks now. The Cultural Center today is empty and only houses a couple of bars and cafe’s very far from its glory. The redesign of the square touches and integrates the existing building with the area in front of it currently occupied by cars, and turning it into a lively avenue, transforming into an exciting activity and a landmark for the city. To enrich the program, a small mining museum is proposed, for the bypassers to catch a glimpse of the work and hard conditions that miners undergo in their daily journey to the heart of the mountain.
